How often are deliveries made?
We dispatch your orders daily for delivery Monday to Friday. Our extensive network of couriers aims to deliver as promptly as possible. For specific delivery questions regarding your area, please contact us directly.

Once your box is handed over to the courier, delivery can occur anytime during the working day, sometimes as late as 6pm, depending on their schedule and workload.
What happens if I'm not at home during delivery hours?
The courier will leave your box in a safe place at the delivery address. You can specify your preferred safe place in the notes section at checkout (e.g., 'behind gate', 'on back deck'). During the summer months, we recommend choosing a shaded spot to protect your produce.

Can I set up a subscription for regular deliveries?
You can opt for a hassle-free weekly subscription where a fresh, pre-set Good-to-Go produce box is delivered on the same day each week. There are no contracts, and you can cancel at any time. Click here to go to the Subscription section.
Can I add a note or special instructions for my delivery?
You can add special instructions for your delivery in the ""Click to add a note for us" section at the checkout.

What does Tag 1 mean?
Not all produce is of the same quality. In the produce industry, items are classified using grades or "tags" to indicate their quality, with Tag 1 being the best. This top grade is reserved for produce that meets the highest standards for freshness, appearance, and overall quality. Tag 1 items are free from defects and stand out for their exceptional size, colour, and texture.
Where do you source your products?
We take pride in sourcing fresh, seasonal produce from trusted local growers across New Zealand. Our incredible artisan food producers, many of them small businesses like ours, are scattered across the country. By choosing Eatlocal, you're not only enjoying top-quality products but also helping other Kiwi businesses to thrive.
How do seasonal changes affect your boxes?
Our produce selection varies throughout the year based on what's in season. We update our website regularly to show what's currently available.
Why do some items suddenly become more expensive?
Produce prices can change quickly due to weather events, crop yields, and market demand. When adverse conditions affect our growers' crops, such as frost, flooding, or extreme heat, this can impact availability and price. We maintain transparency by updating our prices regularly to reflect current market conditions.
Why are your prices sometimes higher than supermarkets?
As we source Tag 1 premium produce from local growers, our prices reflect the superior quality and freshness of our products. We also ensure our growers receive fair compensation for their work. While supermarkets may occasionally offer lower prices, they often stock lower grade produce and have different purchasing models.
How is Eatlocal different from other vege box providers?
We only send you what we would choose for ourselves! You can trust us to be your 'eyes". We don't believe in offloading surplus or low-grade stock onto you—you'll get the best locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables delivered directly and speedily to your door.
Do you offer organic produce?
We have a small but mighty range of organic products. Check back soon as we add more in the future.
Are there options for people with dietary restrictions?
We understand that many of our customers have specific dietary preferences and restrictions. Our website allows you to find products based on various criteria, including dairy- and gluten-free, vegan, etc., by using our search box and filters to help you find suitable products easily.
Can I request products that are not listed on your website?
We’re always eager to hear from our customers! If there’s a specific product you’d like that isn’t listed on our website, feel free to let us know. We’ll do our best to source it for you.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept a wide range of payment methods, including Visa, MasterCard, Afterpay, American Express, and direct bank transfer to our ANZ account. All card payments are processed through Stripe, a secure payment processing platform that allows us to safely and effectively accept online and credit card payments. See our Privacy Policy for more information
Do you have a 'buy now pay later' option?
Yes! You can enjoy the convenience of Afterpay with four interest-free payment instalments. Please note that due to merchant processing fees associated with Afterpay orders, in the event of an unsatisfactory item in your order, we will offer you a product replacement instead of a refund.
Do you have gift cards available?
Gift cards are available in denominations of $10 upwards. Purchase online, and we'll email the gift card directly to the recipient with your personalised message.
Can I gift a box to someone?
Yes, you can easily send a gift box to a friend or loved one. Simply enter their delivery address during checkout, and we'll handle the rest. You can also include a personalised message for a special touch. Rest assured no pricing information will be included with their delivery.
Do you have a referral scheme?
Yes! Click here to go directly to the Refer Friends section. Copy the referral link and send it to all your friends! When any friend places an order, you'll both be rewarded with a discount off your next purchase.
How do you protect my privacy?
We take your privacy seriously. For full details on how we protect your data and keep things secure, check out our Privacy Policy.

How to keep your Fruit At Work fruit fresh
Here are some key strategies to ensure your office fruit stays vibrant and tasty:
-
Just like at home, avoid storing fruits in direct sunlight or near heat sources like the coffee machine. Aim for a cool, well-ventilated area in your office or breakout area.
-
Berries, grapes and stone fruits like peaches and nectarines (once ripe) will last longer when stored in the crisper drawer of your office fridge.
-
Fruits like bananas, apples, pears, and citrus (mandarins and oranges) do best at room temperature.
-
Some fruits, like apples and bananas, release ethylene gas which speeds up ripening in other fruits. Keep these separate from the rest, or store them in the fridge to slow down the process.
-
Hold off on washing your fruit until just before you enjoy it - moisture can accelerate spoilage.
How can our company pay for Fruit At Work?
We can send a monthly invoice your accounts department, taking away the extra admin around using the company credit card.
