  • Fill your plate with seasonal, nutrient-dense fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats, such as avocado. A good ratio is to fill half your plate with veggies, a quarter protein and a quarter grains.

Whole and intact grains - whole wheat, barley, quinoa, oats, brown rice, and foods such as whole wheat pasta are preferable as they contain more fibre which helps you to feel full for longer, and keeps your digestive system running well.

Eating more healthily doesn't have to be difficult. With a little planning and some smart choices, you can enjoy nutritious meals throughout the year.

Here's to a happy and healthy 2023!
