    Store whole garlic bulbs in a cool, dry place with good airflow. Avoid the fridge. Once broken into cloves, use within a week.

    Prep
    Separate cloves as needed. Trim the root end and peel. Crushing or chopping releases more flavour, slicing keeps it milder.

    Eat raw or cook
    Garlic can be used raw in dressings and sauces, though it has a strong bite. It’s more commonly cooked, sautéed, roasted, or added to soups, sauces, and marinades. Cooking softens the flavour and adds sweetness.
