Ginger: Herb or Spice?
Trick question - it’s kind of both!
Ginger comes from a flowering plant (herb territory), but we use the root in cooking like a spice. It’s also been used in traditional medicine for centuries. We’re popping it in our herbs category because it's got serious herbal cred. But no judgment if you still call it a spice in your stir-fry.

Ginger can be used raw, grated into dressings or drinks, or cooked into stir-fries, curries, soups, and baking. Cooking softens the heat and brings out warmth and sweetness.
