Store
Keep lettuce in the fridge crisper drawer. Store loose leaves or whole heads in a bag or container lined with paper towel to absorb excess moisture. Use while the leaves are crisp and fresh.
Prep
Separate leaves, rinse well in cold water, then dry thoroughly. Tear rather than cut if you want to avoid browning on the edges.
Eat raw or cook
Lettuce is best eaten raw in salads, wraps, and sandwiches. Softer varieties can also be lightly wilted and used in stir-fries or added to bowls just before serving.
